If you're an actor, please feel free contact us at VT Casting! We much prefer email (to post)- it's better for the environment. We love to meet new actors and are passionate about diversity in all our projects. We pride ourselves on being approachable.
Ideally please send any emails during the working day and don't add in attachments - a link to your spotlight CV or showreel is perfect. We might not reply immediately, but we'll engage with it and file it away for when you might be right for a role. All our emails are listed on the About page.
We send our breakdowns to all agents or direct to actors via Spotlight and attend the theatre or screenings most evenings, so please do invite us to see shows or showcases. We prefer emails to Twitter/X for invites as we can file your information and reference it at a later date (even if we can't make the show).
We utilise self-tapes on a lot of projects. It increases the number of actors we can physically see, works internationally and accommodates actors commitments. We recommend checking out this Spotlight guide for advice on how best to tape and submit self-tapes: www.spotlight.com/news-and-advice/tips-and-advice/how-to-self-tape-at-home/
We often include a cover sheet along with our self tapes with information specific to the project. We particularly recommend trying to watch an episode of the show you’re taping for (if it isn’t a new project) so you can get a feel for the pace and directorial style of the show to influence your self tape.
If we have requested a self tape from you and you have specific queries about the scene that aren't answered in the script or covering notes, please send us a quick email and if it's during work hours we'll do our best to come back to you asap. It is better to email rather than call.
We are committed to providing a “yes” or a “no” following meetings. Sometimes we don’t have the answer yet but as soon as we do, we’ll let your agent know (or directly if you are self-repped). Often unfortunately a number of weeks can pass before it is definitive but we strongly agree that actors should know the status on a role. We are always committed to providing feedback if available. Sometimes unfortunately it’s just a simple “not the right fit this time” but wherever constructive feedback is available we will always provide it.
We look forward to seeing your work.
